The Good, The Bad, and The Weird

Hey Syphilites,

I saw my first Kimchi Western the other day: 'The Good, The Bad, and the Weird.' Seriously one of the best films I have seen in ages. Directed by Kim Ji-Woon it was the most expensive film made in South Korea ever at the time of its release. Kang Ho-Song as the weird was glorious. This is definitely a must-see.

I know Applebox in Fairfield, VIC have it. Outside of there you'll have track it down yourself. Enjoy.

Zager and Evans - in the year 2525

Hey Syphilites,

I Came across this while watching Jared Hess' Gentlemen Broncos. Hess is also the director of Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre. You should watch the film. Anyway, I'd never heard this song before and decided to look it up. It was Zager and Evans' only hit. Ever. But it was #1 twice in both the UK and US. Wikipedia told me this. Lyrics are below the video. And make sure to watch the video at the bottom.

Lyrics:
In the year 2525
If man is still alive
If woman can survive
They may find

In the year 3535
Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lies
Everything you think, do, and say
Is in the pill you took today

In the year 4545
Ain't gonna need your teeth, won't need your eyes
You won't find a thing chew
Nobody's gonna look at you

In the year 5555
Your arms are hanging limp at your sides
Your legs got not nothing to do
Some machine is doing that for you

In the year 6565
Ain't gonna need no husband, won't need no wife
You'll pick your son, pick your daughter too
From the bottom of a long glass tube

In the year 7510
If God's a-comin' he ought to make it by then
Maybe he'll look around himself and say
Guess it's time for the Judgement day

In the year 8510
God is gonna shake his mighty head
He'll either say I'm pleased where man has been
Or tear it down and start again

In the year 9595
I'm kinda wondering if man is gonna be alive
He's taken everything this old earth can give
And he ain't put back nothing

Now it's been 10,000 years
Man has cried a billion tears
For what he never knew
Now man's reign is through
But through the eternal night
The twinkling of starlight
So very far away
Maybe it's only yesterday

In the year 2525
If man is still alive
If woman can survive
They may find

In the year 3535
Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lies
Everything you think, do or say
Is in the pill you took today ....(fading...)

Captain Spaulding!

I love Sid Haig. He was amazing as Captain Spaulding in Rob Zombie's 'House of the 1000 corpses' and 'The Devil's Rejects.

His one-liners in those two films are the best. This is an ad for his famous murder-ride in House of the 1000 corpses:

Mary the Monkey-girl:

Fuckers won't let me embed his best scene from youtube, but here is the link....

And last, but not least, some 80s b-movie gem with Sid Haig: Galaxy of Terror (1981):

Cut scene from Natural Born Killers - 'The Hun Brothers'

Hey Syphilites,

I know, this movie is old, and I'm not sure what I was doing searching this film. But tell me this: Have you ever seen this scene before? Why was it cut? It think it's sweet.

The brothers real names are David Paul and Peter Paul. They seem to be true B-movie heroes (or C to Z). Here are they Imdb's: David - Peter

Check the brothers out in their 1987 feature film 'The Barbarian Brothers' - (if you dig you can actually watch the whole thing in 10 minute clips on youtube)

Forget Conan. Forget the Beast Master. Forget He-man! This is way better!
