B-Toon, the post-apocalyptic cowboy - Atom Bombs (Demo) - Free Download

My Syphilites,

Finally a real post again.... I've been drifting in and out of wedding-land, had my family here - glorious times. I came across this one via Doom Grinder, a lecherous and weird music blog.

This is something you might find tasty, I'll leave it up to you. B-toon is a musician from Poland who presents himself as the one and only post-apocalyptic cowboy. I'm just listening to this for a second time, and I must say it sounds more like a slow and drudging Type O Negative, than country - which in itself is an accomplishment - although I could see this guy picking away on a porch as you stumble out of the post-nuclear desert, licking the salt of your lips, your eyeballs shrinking to raisins. I'm pretty sure he would laugh at you. Let's invent a new genre and call it 'metallic doom country'. Production is weak here and there, but it is a Demo, so we can't complain about that can we? Also, this will hopefully be remedied on his forthcoming album 'Wasteland' of which you can listen to vocal-free promo-mix at the bottom of this post.

Now what are you waiting for?

The Chatham Singers - All Who Cheated and Lied

From their 2009 'Juju Claudius' album --- The Chatham Singers are a Billy Childish project, someone I didn't really know anything about before stumbling across this band, but who definitely deserves some more research.

gg allin - die when you die

This song is confusing at best. This cover makes it even more confusing.

M Jack Bee- Youth Bouquet and Farewell (LIVE)

Nobunny - I Am a Girlfriend (Acoustic)

The Elusive Nobunny recorded in a Norwegian park howling at the moon.

Bare Wires - Don't Ever Change 7"

Order

Hey Syphilites,

I Came across these guys via Raven Sings the Blues. Bare Wires are a garage band from Oakland, California playing catchy glam-infused punk/pop tunes. Their 2009 LP 'Artificial Clouds' was released on Tic Tac Totally and their 2010 LP 'Seeking Love' was released on Castle Face Records. Their next LP 'Cheap Perfume' will be released later this year. A new 7" 'Don't Ever Change' has just been released on Robot Elephant Records -

This is the A-side:

And listen to the B-side below. Follow the link to download the song.

Phantom of the Black Hills #2

Ok,ok, I know I already posted this first video in my earlier post on this band, but now there is a part two, set to a new song, and I figured it should be seen in sequence. The first video is from the band's first album 'Ghosts', the second is from their 2010 release 'Born To Gun'. You should buy both.

Immortal Lee County Killers

I bought ILCK's album 'Love is a Charm of Powerful Trouble' from a discount bin the other day. I'm charmed. Truly. These guys were around from 1999 until 2007, mixing a hardcore version of blues, punk and psych. Read more on wikipedia.
